Fitness:
A. Good basic fitness. Average rucksack weight: 2-6 kg.
B. Good cardio-vascular fitness mostly obtained from running, gym work or hiking. Average rucksack weight: 6-10 kg.
C. High level of physical condition with ability to carry heavy rucksack for long distance. Average rucksack weight: 10-18 kg.
D. Same as for C. Strenuous climbs/treks with some inevitable weight loss. Bring calories!
E. Same as for D. Hard physical effort at high altitudes needs thorough preparations. May cause fatigue problems after trip.
Technical difficulty:
1. Lower angle of ascend and descend. WINTER - Mixture between lighter treks in snow or without. No previous experience required.
2. Average ascends/descends of 5-10°.WINTER - Average treks in snow conditions. Some rope required. Preferably previous experience but not essential.
3. Advanced angle of ascends/descends, 8-18°. WINTER - Short, steep sections with snow and ice. Ropes required.Previous experience of snow climbing is essential.
4. Advanced mixture of trek and climb in angle 18-25° and steeper.WINTER - Steep snowy and icy sections. Ropes required. Good all round climbing experience is required.
5. Pure climbing angles from 22° and steeper. WINTER - Steep icy and snowy routes where ropes are required. Competent mountaineering experience of consistent climbs at these standards is essential.
